Soundgas are pleased to offer for sale is this US-made 'Tweed' Fender Champ valve (tube) amp dating from December 1959 in fair cosmetic condition and excellent working order.

One of the great recording amps of all time: it sounds fantastic and has tone for days: a great 'crunch' amp. This is a great player's amp.

It's been serviced and earthed so is ready to safely rock your world and is in original condition apart from a replacement handle, 3 core power cord, one valve base, and various out-of-spec components.

The original electronic parts removed are included.

The original speaker has been repaired in the past and is working, but does not cope well with higher volume levels or sustained low notes; it is included for originality's sake, but has been replaced with a new Weber Alnico Signature 8S - the most-recommended replacement driver for Tweed Champs.

It sounds fantastic with the new driver (and through the original driver in our 57 Princeton) - there seems to be more volume, definition and bottom end with the Weber.

Whilst collectors like to see original speakers, fitting a more efficient modern speaker maximises these amps' potential tone-wise and also saves further damage to the original.

It is of course a USA 110v mains unit so will require a step-down transformer for UK/EU use.
